This 18.75 square foot window is done with both copper foil and lead came.  The shields and knight are constructed with copper foil.  The outer theme comes from castle windows in Germany.  The inside arched windows recall a more classic architectural element than a modern building allows.

The Dragon's Window

This 18.75 square foot window is done with both copper foil and lead came.  The dragon's face and the top of the pillars are constructed with copper foil.  The Sun is a hand-blown 'rondel' by Israel Nordin.  The outer design forms a background 'wall' next to the Knight's Window.

Shield Mosaic

Vitreous Glass Tile Mosaic

This 7 square foot mosaic is made of over 7,000 vitreous glass tiles.  The tiles are of Italian origin and measure 3/4" square.  These tiles were cut into four pieces approximately 3/8" square.  The mosaic was constructed on 3/4" marine plywood and mounted in a custom oak frame.  The wood was installed directly onto the wall between the pub and the cooler.  This allowed the beer taps to be brought directly through the wall and the mosaic for serving.

Oak Paneled Bar

Seventeen Seats

This oak wraparound style bar was constructed in many 'phases' from 1998-2004.  Twelve backed stools and five backless stools provide the seating.  It is complemented by a copper-top back bar with custom oak cabinetry.

The Tap Handles at Dragonmead

Erik the Red

This is a hand-carved boat made from basswood and Pine.  The fabric sail is rigged with rope-like thread.

Copper Shield Bitter Harvest

Constructed of pine and hammered copper.

Excalibur Barley Wine

Molded from clay this handle is set with a purchased sword 'in the stone'.

Russian Imperial Stout

This handle is carved from pine and the hammer and sickle are constructed from metal and wood.
